DALLAS - The No. 6 Baylor Hunter Seat team clipped SMU on points (738-727) after a 5-5 tie to earn the victory Saturday afternoon and BuckBranch Farm in Dallas.
The Bears took a 3-2 lead in Flat, as Samantha Schaefer won the first of her two MVP's with a 79. Jenny Mitchell added a 78 and Paige Parker collected a 71 to put BU out in front.
The Mustangs answered with a 3-2 win of their own in Fences. Schaefer's 80 was the highest score on the day, earning MVP, while Ashley Ann McGehee defeated WEF champion Schaefer Roposa 76-70.
The full squad will be back in action, hosting its first home match of the spring, on Sat., Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
