NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - Baylor women's tennis player Ema Burgic was knocked out of the John Newcombe Women's Pro Challenge qualifying draw with a straight-set loss on Monday.
The senior fell, 7-6(3), 7-5, to world No. 704 Nicole Vaidisova (Czech Republic) in the second round of the 32-person qualifying draw.
HIGHLIGHTS
? The $50,000 ITF Pro Circuit event was Burgic's third pro event of the fall.
? After Monday's loss, Burgic is now 7-3 in pro events this fall.
? Vaidisova has been ranked as high as No. 7 in the world and has also made the semifinals at both the French and Australian Opens.
