WACO, Texas - Three Baylor women's tennis players will head to California to participate in the Jack Kramer Intercollegiate with play beginning on Thursday and running through Sunday at the Jack Kramer Tennis Club.

"This event is always a great end to our fall season," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "The members of the Jack Kramer Tennis Club really embrace hosting the event and make it special for the players. For us, it is a chance to gain some more experience as we head into the break."

Freshman Kelley Anderson and juniors Kiah Generette and Rachael James-Baker will make the trip out to Rolling Hills Estates, Calif, to take part in the 64-person singles draw and 32-team doubles bracket.

The Lady Bears have found success at this tournament in the past, capturing both the singles and doubles titles in 2012. This is the first year for Anderson, Generette and James-Baker to compete at the event. It will also be the final event of the 2014 fall season for all three athletes.

Generette comes in to the tournament ranked No. 37 in the country. She will be looking to improve on her record of 5-2 in singles this fall. Generette is the No. 4 seed at the event and has a first-round bye. She will await the winner of Gabby Smith (USC) and Renata Kuricova (Tulsa) for a 6:30 p.m. CT match on Thursday.

Anderson is also 5-2 thus far in the fall season. As the event's No. 7 seed, she too has a first-round bye and will take the court against the winner of UC-Irvine's Sarah Gong and North Carolina State's Sophie Nelson at 5:15 p.m. on the first day of play.

James-Baker, the tournament's No. 8 seed, is 3-0 in the fall after transferring to Baylor from North Carolina State. She will meet Stacy Yam of UC-Santa Barbara at 12:15 p.m. in the first round of singles action.

In doubles play beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday, the pairing of Generette and James-Baker will face LSU's Joana Vale Costa and Madara Straume.

That BU duo is seeded eighth at the event and has already racked up a 1-1 record in doubles together this fall.

Anderson will partner with Texas A&M's Mason Strickland to take on Natalia Janowicz and Joanna Nalborska of North Carolina State.
