Women's Tennis Continues Play at HEB/Under Armour

THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas -
Baylor women's tennis players Kiah Generette and Eliza Long each played three matches Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center during day two of the HEB/Under Armour Fall Invite.

The pair started the day with doubles as they fell to TCU's Palina Dubavets and Alexandra Zenkova with a score of 8-7(4). The pair is 0-2 at the tournament in doubles play.

Generette rebounded in her first singles match defeating Grainne O'Neill of Ohio State 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 to pick up her first win of the season. The 37th-ranked junior won her afternoon singles matches as well, beating Ohio State's Ferny Paz in straight sets 7-6 (1), 6-4.

Long struggled in singles play falling to Anna Sanford from Ohio State in three sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. In her second match she fell in three sets again, this time to Ohio State's Olivia Sneed with a score of 6-2, 2-6, 6-0. Long is now 2-6 on the season.

WHAT'S NEXT
The tournament continues Sunday morning with doubles action at 9 a.m. Generette and Long will face Paz and O'Neill of Ohio State. The final singles matches of the tournament begin shortly after at 10:15 a.m. Generette will face Dubavets and Long will take on TCU's Alexis Pereira.
