Burgic Wins Opening Match at Rock Hills Rocks Open

ROCK HILL, S.C. -
Baylor women's tennis senior Ema Burgic recorded a 6-1, 5-7, 7-5 win over Sophie Chang of the United States in her first match at the Rock Hill Rocks Open on Monday.

The win pushes Burgic into the third round of qualifying singles, where she will face the United States' Natalie Suk on Tuesday. Burgic had a first-round bye in the event.

The tournament, an ITF $25,000 Pro Circuit event, has a 64-person singles qualifying draw, which will send eight players into the 32-person main draw.
