NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Baylor junior offensive lineman Spencer Drango has been named second-team All-America by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, the organization announced Thursday during The Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards Show.

On Thursday, Drango also earned first team All-America honors from Sports On Earth, Scout and USA Today and a second-team selection from CBS Sports.

Drango's selection marks the fifth time in the Big 12 era and the fourth-straight year that the Bears have had a player named to the nation's oldest college football All-America squad. Cyril Richardson was a first-team honoree last season, while Terrance Williams was a first-team selection in 2012 and Robert Griffin III was a second-team honoree in 2011. When Daniel Sepulveda was named to the first team in 2006, he became the first Bear honored since Santana Dotson in 1991.

A Cedar Park, Texas, native, Drango is the third offensive lineman and the 11th player (13 selections) in program history named a Walter Camp All-American. Along with Richardson's selection last season, guard Bill Glass was selected to the first team in 1956.

Drango is now the sixth Baylor All-America offensive lineman selection in the last seven years, joining Richardson (2012 & 2013), Danny Watkins (2010), J.D. Walton (2009) and Jason Smith (2008).

One of six Outland Trophy semifinalists, Drango helped Baylor win a second-straight Big 12 championship and tie a school record with 11 wins. He is the leader for an offensive line that blocks for America's top offense. The Bears lead the nation in scoring (48.8) and total offense (581.3). After starting all 12 regular season games, Drango led all BU blockers with an 88.8 percent coaches grade.

Drango was recognized as an All-Big 12 first-team player by the Associated Press and the league's coaches. The Big 12 Conference coaches also honored him as the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.

The Walter Camp All-America team is one of five teams recognized by the NCAA that a player must be on to earn unanimous All-American status. The other four teams will be released at a later date, including the Associated Press, Sporting News, Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) teams.

Baylor (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) will now play in the 2015 Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic versus Michigan State (10-2, 7-1) in Arlington, Texas, on Jan. 1. The Bears will be appearing in a bowl game for a fifth-straight season for the first time in program history. The contest is slated for an 11:30 a.m. CT kick from AT&T Stadium.
