WACO, Texas - Baylor juniors Spencer Drango and Shawn Oakman were named to the Associated Press (AP) All-America team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Drango was one of two offensive tackles on the first team, while Oakman was one of two defensive ends on the third team.

With Drango and Oakman's selections, Baylor has now had at least two All-Americans on the AP team for four straight seasons and a total of nine in seven years under Art Briles. Baylor has a total of 29 AP selections (25 players) and 19 first-team honorees (17 players) in its history.

A Cedar Park, Texas, native, Drango is the leader for an offensive line that blocks for America's top offense. The Bears lead the nation in scoring (48.8) and total offense (581.3). After starting all 12 regular season games, Drango led all BU blockers with an 88.8 percent coaches grade.

Drango has also earned first-team All-America honors from Athlon, ESPN, Scout, SportsOnEarth and USA Today, second-team selections from Walter Camp and CBS Sports and honorable mention status from Sports Illustrated.

At the conference level, Drango was recognized as an All-Big 12 first team player by the Associated Press and the league's coaches. The Big 12 Conference coaches also honored him as Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Oakman, a product of Lansdowne, Pa., leads the Big 12 with 1.54 TFLs per game and is third with 0.83 sacks per game. Thus far, he has career-highs in tackles (48), sacks (10), TFLs (18.5), QB hurries (9), fumbles forced (3) and fumbles recovered (3).

Oakman has also been named a third-team All-American by SportsOnEarth and an honorable mention selection by Sports Illustrated. Additionally, he racked up All-Big 12 first team honors from nine outlets.

Both players helped Baylor win a second-straight Big 12 championship and tie a school record with 11 wins.

The AP All-America team is one of five teams recognized by the NCAA that a player must be on to earn unanimous All-American status. The other four teams, include the Sporting News, Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Walter Camp teams.

Baylor (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) will play in the 2015 Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic versus Michigan State (10-2, 7-1) in Arlington, Texas, on Jan. 1. The Bears will be appearing in a bowl game for a fifth-straight season for the first time in program history. The contest is slated for an 11:30 a.m. CT kick from AT&T Stadium.
