Cabo Intercollegiate Day One Results 
THE RUNDOWN
LOS CABOS, Mexico - The Baylor men's golf team is in a tie for fourth place after the first day of play at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate. The Bears shot 12-over-par 296 in Sunday's opening round, placing them eight strokes behind co-leaders SMU (+4) and Houston (+4) headed into Monday's second round.
Baylor is two stokes out of third place, which is held by Alabama (+10). The Bears are in a three-way tie with Vanderbilt and UT Arlington. LSU (+13) is only one stroke back in seventh place.
Three Baylor players are in the top 25 individually after the opening round. Sophomore Andreas Gjesteby shot 1-over-par 72, and is tied for ninth place. Juniors Kyle Jones and Niclas Mansson both shot 3-over 74 in the first round to place them in a tie for 21st place.
Junior Filippo Zucchetti shot 5-over 76 to finish the day tied for 33rd place, while Charles Neel White, who is competing as an individual, shot 7-over 78 in the opening round to place him in a tie for 54th place. Senior Jerry Ruiz is in a tie for 59th place after shooting 8-over 79 in his opening round.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Zucchetti was one of two players in the 78-player field to eagle the 15th hole in the opening round, which moved him back to 1-over through his first seven holes played.
• Mansson eagled the ninth hole, which was his second hole of the round.
• Ruiz birdied holes 15 and 16. His birdie on 16 was one of only three made on that hole by the 78-player field.

"There were tough conditions, and it was a tough golf course today," head coach Greg Priest said. "We really did not play that great today. We made a lot of mistakes, but we have two more days. If we can eliminate those big numbers we can get back in this thing."
WHAT'S NEXT
Monday's second round will be a shotgun start, which will begin at 8 a.m. CT Baylor is paired with UT Arlington, LSU and Kentucky. The Bears will start on holes 5-9, with Gjesteby on the fifth hole, followed by Jones, Mansson, Zucchetti and Ruiz, respectively. White will begin on the 16th tee.
