BRILES' UNIQUE SYSTEM IS AMERICA'S TOP OFFENSE
Art Briles' unique, record-breaking offense is leading the nation in total offense (686.1) and scoring (61.1) through seven games, after also having led in both each of the past two seasons - total offense (581.5 ypg 2014, 618.8 ypg 2013) and scoring (48.2 ppg 2014, 52.4 ppg 2013). Baylor's offense is the only one in the country to rank among the top-four in total offense each of the last four years.

THE BRILES OFFENSE: à ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € A unique, up-tempo spread attack with origins in Bill Yeoman's `Houston Veer' (perhaps most identifiable by wide splits of receivers and a power running game), Art Briles has honed his offensive system over the past four decades as a high school and collegiate coach; it's a balanced offense, not to be confused with more common pass-heavy spread attacks. The Briles offense is also in use at Bowling Green (head coach Dino Babers) and Tulsa (head coach Philip Montgomery) under former Briles assistants. In the latest NCAAà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € statistics, those three programs, Baylor (686.1), Bowling Green (595.3) and Tulsa (532.0) are first, fourth and ninth respectively in total offense.

BIGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 12'S TOPà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TEAMà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SINCEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 2013
En route to back-to-back Big 12 titles, the Bears racked up matching 8-1 league records. That combined record of 16-2, plus this year's 4-0 start is far and away tops in the Big 12 since the start of 2013.

RUNà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € GAMEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € ROLLINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € FORà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BEARSà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € EARLYà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € INà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 2015
With seven straight games of 276 or more yards rushing, Baylor is second in the country by averaging 338.3 yards per contest on the ground. BU's rushing attack is a five-headed monster, which is led by Shock Linwood 974 yds. on 121 carries with 9 TDs. The junior is torching defenses for 8.0 yards per carry in 2015 and 139.1 yards per game. Both of those marks are No. 1 in the Big 12 and fourth and seventh in the country, respectively. Behind Linwood, redshirt freshman Terence Williams has made the most of his closer role, producing 417 yards on 61 carries with 1 TD. Sophomore Johnny Jefferson (399-61-4) has provided a lightning quick reserve and Devin Chafin (117-23-2) has been utilized in short-yardage situations. Meanwhile, QBà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € Seth Russell was also a threat to gain yards on the ground before his injury, racking up 402 yards on 49 carries and 6 TDs in 2015.

KANSASà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € STATEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks just the 13th series meeting between Baylor and Kansas State with the Wildcats holding a 7-5 series advantage. The K-State holds a 4-1 advantage when games are played in Manhattan. Last season in Waco, the teams met for the first time as ranked foes in the season finale as the Bears took a 38-27 victory to clinch their second-straight Big 12 title. In its last trip to Kansas State, BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € earned its first ever win in Manhattan with a 35-25 triumph. The year before that in Waco, Baylor knocked off No. 1 Kansas State, 52-24, for the program's first-ever win over a No. 1 ranked team.

SERIES NOTES: In the first seven meetings of the series, Baylor had scored 73 combined points. In the last five games, the Bears have tallied 207 points (47 - 2010; 35 - 2011, 52 - 2012, 35 - 2013, 38 - 2014). As Big 12 foes the teams have met 11 times with K-State holding the 6-5 advantage. BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € LEADINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € NATION INà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 50-POINTà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € GAMESà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SINCEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 2013

THEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € NATION'S MOSTà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BALANCEDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € OFFENSE
Currently, Baylor is the only team in the nation to be ranked in the top 10 in both passing (10th, 347.9) and rushing offense (2nd, 338.3). Baylor has ranked among the nation's top 15 in both rushing and passing yards in three of the past four years. Additionally, BU has rushed on more than 54 percent of plays over the last four seasons.

BAYLOR'S RETURN TO PROMINENCE UNDER BRILES
It's no secret that Art Briles has rebuilt Baylor's football program back to national prominence, but most impressive is how quickly and pronounced the transformation happened (Briles is third on the BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € career wins list).

RUSSELLà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SIDELINED FORà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SEASONà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € WITHà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € INJURY
Through seven games, QB Seth Russell had shown he was more than capable of running America's top offense. However against Iowa State, the Garland, Texas, product suffered a neck injury that required season-ending surgery. The fourth-year junior had thrown for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first season as a starter, and ran for 402 yards and six TDs. Individually, Russell led the FBS in passing efficiency (189.7). Moving forward, Baylor's first-string quarterback will be Jarrett Stidham, a true freshman from Stephenville, Texas, who joined the program in January of 2015 and has appeared in all seven games for the No. 2 ranked Bears. Stidham owns a 255.7 passer efficiency rating, having thrown for 331 yards and six TDs on 24-of-28 passes (86 percent completion percentage).

COLEMANà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € CARRYINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € `WIDE RECEIVERà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € U' BANNER
Through seven games, junior Corey Coleman has firmly taken hold of the No. 1 receiver roll, which continues a long history of success for BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € at the wide receiver position. He currently leads the country in TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € catches (18) and is third in receiving yards per contest (137.4).
