TYLER, Texas - Baylor offensive stars Corey Coleman and Shock Linwood are two of 16 semifinalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, the award's selection committee announced Monday.

Both Coleman and Linwood were semifinalists for the honor last season as well.

This season, Coleman, a junior wide receiver, leads the country in touchdown receptions (20) and is third in receiving yards per game (119.5). The junior's 20 TD grabs are currently ranked tied for third-most for a single season in Big 12 history and ninth-most in NCAA history.

The Richardson, Texas, native has re-written the BU record books, breaking Kendall Wright's school single season (14) and career (30) receiving TD records. Coleman now sits with 20 on the year and 33 for his career.

Earlier this month, Coleman recorded the eighth 1,000-yard receiving season in program history and became the first player in program history with multiple 1,000-yard receiving seasons (had 1,119 in 2014).

On the year, Coleman has 67 catches for 1,314 yards and he was already named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award.

This season, Linwood, a junior running back, has rushed for 1,298 yards on 189 attempts with 10 touchdowns, while starting all 11 of BU's games. The Linden, Texas, product ranks eighth in the FBS in yards per carry (6.87, first in Big 12) and 16th in rushing yards per game (118.0, third in Big 12).

He has six 100-yard rushing games in 2015, which are second-most in BU history for a single season. With 1,298 rushing yards, he has recorded the 12th 1,000-yard rushing season in program history and joined Lache Seastrunk (2012, 2013) as the only players in program history with multiple 1,000-yard seasons, after 1,252 in 2014.

Linwood has already been tabbed as a Doak Walker semifinalist.

Both players have helped Baylor be the nation's top offense as the Bears are averaging 616.0 yards per game and scoring 50.8 points per contest, both tops in the FBS.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division 1 football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.

In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four year D1 Texas college.

The two Bears are part of 11 players from the Big 12 on the list. In total, this year's candidates include five quarterbacks, five running backs and six wide receivers. Five different conferences are represented.

BU has now had at least two semifinalists for the honor in each of the last three years as Bryce Petty joined Coleman and Linwood a season ago and two years ago BU had four players on the semifinalist list, including Antwan Goodley, Petty, Tevin Reese and Lache Seastrunk. Petty went on to capture the inaugural award in 2013.

Finalists will be selected from the semifinalist group and announced on Dec. 7. The winner will be announced at the award banquet in Tyler, Texas on Jan. 13, 2015.

BU is off to a 9-2 record and a 6-2 mark in Big 12 play. The Bears are ranked No. 12 in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll.

In their next game, the Bears will host Texas at 11 a.m. CT in the regular season finale for both teams on ESPN.
