Feb. 17, 2015 WACO, Texas - Heather Stearns pitched nine scoreless innings over the weekend and allowed just four hits while striking out 17 hitters to earn Tuesday's Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honor for Baylor University.
The junior righthander took a no-hitter into the sixth inning for her second consecutive game Saturday evening vs. Northwestern State, but settled for the 30th 1-hitter in history in Baylor's 11-0 win over the Lady Demons. Stearns fanned a career-high 13 batters and walked only one in the six-inning, run-rule victory over NSU.
