
No. 7 Men's Golf Travels to Bayou City

WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team is headed to the Bayou City Collegiate Championship, which is hosted by the University of Houston and Rice University. The three-day, 54-hole event begins Friday at the Golf Club of Houston.
The tournament will be played at 6,982 yards on the par-72 Tournament Course. The No. 7-ranked Bears will be competing in a 15-team field featuring five other Texas schools, including No. 30 Houston, Rice, Lamar, Sam Houston State and UTSA. The field also includes No. 38 Arkansas, Charlotte, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, New Mexico State, Northern Illinois, No. 9 South Carolina, Southeastern Louisiana and Troy.
The Bears lineup is led by senior Kyle Jones, who won last week's UTSA Oak Hills Invitational, claiming the event's individual title for a third straight season. Fellow seniors Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen and Filippo Zucchetti join Jones, along with junior Andreas Gjesteby and freshman Frederik Andersen. Nick Thornton will compete as an individual.
Baylor's tee times for Friday's first round begin at 9 a.m. CT on the first hole. The Bears are paired with Houston and South Carolina and start times will be in nine-minute intervals, beginning with Andersen. He'll be followed by Zucchetti, Gjesteby, Bjerch-Andresen and Jones, respectively. Thornton will tee off on No. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
