Feb. 5, 2015 WACO, Texas - The No. 10 Baylor Softball team opens the 2015 season Friday with two games at the 14th annual Fairfield Inn & Suites North Getterman Classic. The Bears will take on Wichita State at 3 p.m. followed by a matchup with Stephen F. Austin at 5:30 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.
Baylor turns its attention to 2015 after a 2014 Women's College World Series run that had the Lady Bears finish as the No. 4-ranked team in the country. BU returns 10 letterwinners and brings in 10 newcomers to the squad in 2015.
The Bears have won nine of the previous 13 Getterman Classics, and all three visiting teams have played in the annual tournament at least once.
Baylor faces off against Texas A&M Corpus Christi Saturday at 12:30 p.m. before two bracket play games will determine the consolation and championship games Sunday.

Getterman Classic Notes:
The Getterman Classic is in its 14th year of existence, and the tournament carries the namesake of Ted and Sue Getterman, who were influential in starting the softball program and providing funding for Getterman Stadium.
? Baylor has won the Getterman Classic on nine different occasions including last season and carries a 58-9 all-time record in the tournament.
? Stephen F. Austin is making its third appearance in the Getterman Classic (2007, 2009) and has an all-time record of 6-4 in the tournament.
? Texas A&M Corpus Christi is making its second appearance in the Getterman Classic (2007) and carries a 0-5 record in the tournament.
? Wichita State is making its fifth appearance in the Getterman Classic (2004, 2006, 2010, 2012) and carries a 5-14 all-time record.
? 2015 marks the eighth time in tournament history that the Getterman Classic features four teams.
? An all-tournament team consisting of 12 players will be selected and presented following the championship game Sunday.
