SAN ANTONIO, Texas. -
The Baylor men's golf team is in the lead after two rounds of play at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational. The Bears shot 4-over par (572) over Monday's two rounds to put them five strokes ahead of the field heading into Tuesday's final round.

The Bears lead second place UTSA (+9) by five strokes, and they are 10 strokes ahead of third place teams Sam Houston State (+14) and Houston Baptist (+14). Wichita State rounds out the top-five at 16-over par headed into the final day.

Three Baylor players finished the day among the top 10 individuals. Senior Kyle Jones leads the tournament after shooting 4-under 138 through two rounds of play, and he'll look to win the tournament's individual title for a third consecutive season on Tuesday. Filippo Zucchetti and Andreas Gjesteby shot 1-over-par 143 to finish the day tied for ninth place.

Frederik Andersen shot 7-over in the first two rounds of play and is in a tie for 38th place. Nick Thornton, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 60th place at 11-over par, and Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen is one stroke behind him at 12-over par through two rounds of play.

HIGHLIGHTS
? Baylor is in second place in par-4 scoring average at 4.14 for the tournament.
? Jones leads the field in birdies made with 10 birdies over 36 holes of play.
? In the first round, Zucchetti led the field in par-4 scoring with an average of 3.64, including five birdies on the first round's par 4s.
? The Bears were 3-under as a team on hole No. 8 in the first round including birdies by Bjerch-Andresen, Gjesteby and Zucchetti.

STAT OF THE ROUND
34 - the number of birdies made by Baylor players over two rounds of play, which were five more than any other teams in the field.

WHAT'S NEXT
Tee times for Tuesday's final round begin for the Bears at 9 a.m. CT. Baylor is paired with UTSA and Sam Houston State, and the group will tee off on hole No. 1 with Bjerch-Andresen up first, followed by Andersen, Zucchetti, Gjesteby and Jones in nine-minute intervals, respectively.
