Feb. 28, 2015 WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team is headed to Los Cabos, Mexico, for the Querencia Cabo Collegiate. The 54-hole event runs Sunday through Tuesday at the Querencia Country Club.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at par-71 with rounds being played at 6,894, 6,873 and 6,869 yards, respectively.
The No. 6-ranked Bears will be competing in a 14-team field featuring 10 teams in the nation's top 50 of the latest GolfStat rankings, including No. 2 Florida State, No. 7 LSU, No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 12 South Florida, No.13 Wake Forest, No. 14 Stanford, No. 19 Washington, No. 35 Houston, No. 39 Arkansas, No. 47 Mississippi. Kentucky, Rice and Lamar will also be competing in the tournament.
The Bears line-up is led by senior Kyle Jones, who finished second in last week's tournament, the Bayou City Collegiate Championship. Fellow seniors Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen and Filippo Zucchetti join Jones, along with juniors Andreas Gjesteby and Frederik Andersen.
Sunday's first round is a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT. The Bears are paired with Florida State, LSU and Vanderbilt. Jones will begin on hole No. 1, and Bjerch-Andresen, Gjesteby, Zucchetti and Andersen will follow on holes No. 2-5, respectively.
