THE RUNDOWN
LOS CABOS, Mexico - The No. 6-ranked Baylor men's golf team shot 6-over-par 290 in Monday's second round of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate. The round moved the Bears up two spots into a three-way tie for eighth place, four strokes out of the top five.
The Bears are tied with Kentucky (+10) and Mississippi (+10), and that trio is three strokes behind seventh-place Houston (+7). Vanderbilt and Wake Forest are tied in fifth place at 6-over 574. Washington (-5) is in fourth place, while Florida State (-6) is in third. Stanford shot 6-under in the second round to move into second place at 8-under, and South Florida leads the field at 9-under for the tournament.
Kyle Jones shot 1-under 70 in the second round and remained in a tie for seventh place individually with a 36-hole score 3-under 139. Andreas Gjesteby also finished the day among the top 25 individuals after posting a second round even-par 71 to finish the day in a tie for 23rd place at 2-over 144.
Frederik Andersen shot 2-over to move up into a tie for 39th place at 5-over-par 147. Filippo Zucchetti is in a tie for 43rd place at 4-over after posting a second round 5-over par, and Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen is in 69th place at 19-over after shooting 7-over on Monday.
HIGHLIGHTS
? The Bears are in third place in par-3 scoring average at 3.05 for the tournament.
? Zucchetti leads the field in par-5 scoring average at 4.33 through two rounds of play.
? Gjesteby is tied for fourth in par-3 scoring with a scoring average of 2.88.
? Jones is in a tie for fifth place in par-4 scoring with a scoring average of 3.82.
? Gjesteby had six birdies in the second round, moving him up into seventh place with 10 birdies made for the tournament.
STAT OF THE ROUND
6 - The number of strokes under-par the Bears were on holes 12-14, including six birdies made by Bjerch-Andresen, Gjesteby and Zucchetti.

Tuesday's final round will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT. Baylor is paired with Lamar and Kentucky. Jones and Gjesteby tee off on hole No. 11, while Andersen will begin on hole 12, Zucchetti will tee off on hole 13 and Bjerch-Andresen will begin on hole 14.
