TEMPE, Ariz. - The 14th-ranked Baylor men's golf team is headed to Temple, Ariz., to wrap up the 2014-15 regular season at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event begins Friday at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course.

The tournament will be played at 6,971 yards on the par-70 course. Baylor will be competing in a 14-team field featuring five teams in the top-50 according to the latest GolfStat rankings, including No. 3 Arizona State, No. 31 San Diego State, No. 40 Iowa and No. 48 Iowa State. Arizona, UC Davis, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego, Washington State and Wyoming are also in the field.

"We are looking forward to a great event," head coach Mike McGraw said. "Arizona State is one of the hottest teams in the country playing at their home course, so they are going to be very very strong, obviously. The rest of the field is very good as well. We're excited about the opportunity to compete this week."

Kyle Jones returns to his home state to compete in his final regular-season collegiate event. Fellow seniors, Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen and Filippo Zucchetti join Jones in the starting line up. Andreas Gjesteby and Frederik Andersen round out the BU lineup, while Nick Thornton will compete as an individual.

Friday's first round will begin as a shotgun start at 9:45 a.m. CT. The Bears are paired with Arizona State, San Diego and San Diego State. Jones will begin on hole 1, and Gjesteby, Bjerch-Andresen, Zucchetti and Andersen will follow on holes 2-5, respectively. Thornton will begin the round on hole No. 16.
