Baylor Game Notes
WACO, Texas - The No. 16-ranked Baylor softball team plays host to Sam Houston State Wednesday at Getterman Stadium in a mid-week doubleheader before resuming Big 12 play. The first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. with the second game beginning immediately after the first game's conclusion.
The Bears (31-11) are coming off a 2-2 week with a win over Houston Baptist and beat No. 5 Oklahoma Thursday 8-0 before the Sooners rebounded to take the final two games of the series.
Sam Houston State (15-25) has won six of the last seven games and took the series from Southland Conference foe Abilene Christian, winning two of three games over the weekend.

Baylor split a doubleheader in Huntsville last season with the Bearkats taking a 4-3 game in 10 inninngs in game one before run-ruling SHSU 12-0 in five innings to close the game.
Sarah Smith homered and drove in four, while Jordan Strickland and Clare Hosack also added home runs in the win with Whitney Canion picking up the complete-game shutout.
SHSU's Haley Baros picked up the win in relief in game one, she returns in 2015 as the Bearkats' leader in ERA at 3.50 in 70 innings of work.
