WACO, Texas - Baylor soccer recently held its annual team banquet and handed out team awards from the 2014 season.

Four awards were given away at the banquet: Offensive MVP, Defensive MVP, Hunemuller Award and MVP. Senior forward Justine Hovden was honored as Offensive MVP after starting all 20 matches and leading the Bears in goals (6), points (14), shots (51), shots on goal (24) and game-winning goals (2).

Seniors forward Natalie Huggins and midfielder Alexa Wilde shared the Hunemuller Award (honoring the team's best players' player). Both played in all 20 matches and were two of nine BU players to amass over 1,500 minutes played. Huggins tallied six points on two goals and two assists while Wilde had seven points on three goals and one assist with one game-winner.

The MVP and Defensive MVP accolades both went to sophomore defender Lindsay Burns. While starting all 20 matches and playing over 1,700 minutes, Burns was consistently tasked with marking her opponent's best attacking player. While picking up a point on one assist on the offensive side, Burns was a large reason that the Bears only allowed 0.77 goals per game (second in Big 12 and 39th in NCAA), had a .450 shutout percentage (second in Big 12 and 54th in NCAA) and held significant edges in goals (28-16), shots (266-191), saves (64-104) and corner kicks (106-85).
