UTSA Outlasts No. 17 Softball, 2-1 in Extra Innings

THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas - Randee Crawford's RBI single in the top of the ninth inning proved to be the game-winner for the UTSA softball team Wednesday night in a 2-1 win in nine innings at Getterman Stadium over Baylor.

The Bears scored just one unearned run on 10 hits and left 13 runners on base to drop to 34-13 on the season. The Roadrunners' Nicole Merrill picked up the win in the final two innings of work in the circle to improve to 10-7 on the year and used a solo home run from Megan Low in the top of the fourth in addition to Crawford's game-sealing hit.

Baylor's Kendall Potts pitched well in the loss allowing just four UTSA hits, two runs, she walked one and struck out five in nine innings of work. The Roadrunners improved to 32-17 on the season.

HIGHLIGHTS
? Kaitlyn Thumann had three hits for the second-straight game in a 3-for-5 performance. Her second hit moved her to eighth all-time on the career hits list passing Kim Wilmoth (213, 2002-05) and she enters the KU series with 215 career base knocks.
? Thumann 13 multiple hit games on the season and 61 in her career.
? Thumann's hitting streak was extended to six games, and her on-base streak reached eight.
? Linsey Hays hit 2-for-5 in the loss to record her eight multiple-hit game of the season and 43rd of her career.
? Baylor is now 21-13 all-time vs. the Roadrunners and 11-6 at home.
? Shelby Friudenberg extended her on-base streak to 10 games with a walk in the loss.
? Despite the loss to fall to 6-3 on the season, Kendall Potts pitched a season-high nine innings, and allowed just four hits with five strikeouts in the circle for Baylor.
