The Wylie, Texas, product is a three-year starter and helps anchor a young o-line that has allowed only 20 sacks in the first 11 games.
- Junior WRà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € KDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € Cannon was on watch lists for the Biletnikoff and Tyler Rose awards. OFFENSE, DEFENSE SHARE BLAME IN FOUR-GAME SLIDE
After starting the season 6-0, Baylor's season has turned dramatically after five-straight losses. Both sides of the ball have not performed well as of late, leading to the first five-game skid since 2007. Below is a comparison of Baylor's offensive and defensive outputs during the six wins and four losses.

BEARà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € DEFENSE IMPROVES AGAINST THE PASS
BU's switch to a 3-4 defense to start the 2016 had many benefits, including helping the Bears better defend the pass. In an effort to stop the run during the Oklahoma and Kansas State games, the Bears went back to a four down lineman look. In the first 11 games of 2016, the Baylor Dà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € is far and away better against air attacks than it was a season ago.

CANNONà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BECOMINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € MODELà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € OFà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € CONSISTENCYà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € ASà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TOPà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TARGET
After the loss of 2015 Biletnikoff Award winner Corey Coleman to the NFL, junior KDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € Cannon was expected to become the offense's No. 1 target, but an injury heading into fall camp delayed the speedster's progression. Eleven games into the season, Cannon has become the top WR target despite missing all of the Iowa State game with a groin injury.

- 2016 stats: 68 catches for 905 yards with 10 TDs and long reception of 62 yards
- Ranks No. 1 in Big 12 and 18th in FBSà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € with 6.8 catches per contest
- Ranks 3rd in the conference and 20th nationally with 10 TD recepitons
- Ranks 4th in Big 12 and 25th in FBS with 90.5 yards receiving per game
- Has caught pass in all 36 career games played
- Only player in BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € history with 3 career 200-yard receiving games (213 vs. Rice)
- Has caught TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € in 7 of 11 games in 2016

GROBEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € MAKINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SPECIALà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TEAMSà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € A PRIORITY
Acting head coach Jim Grobe has said from the beginning of his tenure that he would put his stamp on Baylor's special teams effort. Through 11 games of the season, Grobe's work has become evident as the Bears are outperforming their special teams output from a season ago.

BACKFIELD WASà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € FOUR-HEADEDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € MONSTER
Through the first nine games of 2016, Baylor had displayed a balanced rushing attack with JaMycal Hasty, Shock Linwood, Seth Russell and Terence Williams all producing over 48.0 yards per game on the ground. However, Russell is out for the season with an ankle injury and both Hasty and Williams missed the Kansas State game with injuries. BU is still the only FBS team that has four rushers averaging 50.0 yards per game or more.

WEST VIRGINIAà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SERIES HISTORY
- Baylor and West Virginia will meet for the fifth time Saturday. WVU leads the all-time series is 2-2 with each team having won twice on its home field over the last four years.
- Last season, the Bears cruised to a 24-point win at McLane Stadium, thanks in part to a 3 TD catches by Corey Coleman and a 21-point third quarter.
- In 2014, Baylor tied the score at 27 points apiece entering the fourth quarter, but couldn't scratch out any more points to suffer its only loss of the Big 12 season, 41-27. BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € was held under 400 yards of offense for what at the time was only the 3rd time in 47 games.
- In 2013, Baylor got out to a 56-14 lead at halftime in Waco and never looked back as the offense posted a school-record 872 yards and a Big 12 record 73 points in a 73-42 victory.
- In 2012, Baylor faced West Virginia in the Mountaineers first conference game as members of the Big 12. WVUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ €  scratched out a 70-63 victory in Morgantown in what at the time was the highest scoring game in Big 12 history.
- The teams have combined for 416 (225 BU/191 WVU) points and 4,587 (2,683 BU/1,904 WVU) yards of total offense in the first four meetings of the series.

RUSSELLà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SIDELINED FORà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SEASONà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € WITHà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € INJURY AGAIN
For a second-straight year, senior quarterback Seth Russell has undergone season-ending surgery. Russell suffered a fractured left ankle in the third quarter of Baylor's loss at No. 9 Oklahoma on Nov. 12. The ankle injury comes just over a year after the Garland, Texas, product suffered a neck injury on Oct. 24, 2015, against Iowa State. In 2016, Russell had thrown for 2,126 yards and 20 touchdowns, while completing 54.7 percent of his passes (152-of-278) with eight interceptions. The senior had also racked up 506 rushing yards on 94 carries with eight scores. As a starter at Baylor, Russell owned a 14-3 record, throwing 54 TD passes and only 14 interceptions in those games. For his career, the veteran signal caller ranks second in school history in passing efficiency (159.36). He is also third in the BU record books with 60 career TD passes and seventh in passing yards (5,461).

BAYLOR HAVING HISTORIC RUN SINCE 2013
Baylor's three-plus year record of 38-12 overall and 25-10 in league-play is second-best among Big 12 schools. The Bears have also won two conference championships since 2013.

INJURY BUG BITING BEARS
In addition to losing Seth Russell for the remainder of the season, the Bears have had nine players that have started in 2016 miss at least one game due to injury this season.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
In the first 11 games of 2016, the Bears have played 33 freshmen, including 19 redshirt freshmen and 14 true freshmen. Meanwhile, 25 different players have made their first career starts in 2016, including 11 freshmen and eight sophomores. BU's 25 first-time starters are fourth-most in the country.

SUCCESS AWAY FROM WACO
Baylor has won 19 of its last 27 games outside of Waco (dating into the 2012 season). In that span, the Bears are 13-5 in true road games and 6-3 in neutral-site games (2-2 in bowl games and 4-5 vs. ranked opponents). However, the Bears are just 2-3 on the road in 2016.

Over the last three-plus seasons, in which Baylor has posted a 38-12 record and won two league titles, the Bears D has increased its sacks and tackles-for-loss totals. In 2016, the Bears have debuted a 3-4 look that has resulted in a strong defensive effort through 10 games.

BU RACKING UP PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS AT HISTORIC RATE
Six Baylor players have been voted Big 12 Player of the Week through the first 11 games of 2016, which is the second-most in program history in a single season, with the record being seven in 2011.

NATION'S MOST BALANCED OFFENSE
Baylor annually ranks among the nation's leaders in both passing and rushing. The Bears rush more often than pass, and have run the ball on 58.1 percent of plays over the last five seasons.

SHOCK BREAKS SCHOOLà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € RUSHINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € RECORDS
Baylor senior Shock Linwood is the nation's sixth-leading active rusher and became Baylor's all-time leader in rushing yards against Rice. In the win over Kansas, he rushed for his second TD of the season to stand alone as BU's career rushing TD leader with 36.

BEARS LEAD BIG 12 & TEXAS IN NFL DRAFTEES
Baylor had six players selected in the 2016 NFLà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € Draft, the seventh-most among NCAA schools and most of any Big 12 or Texas program. Baylor also tops the league in first-round draft selections over the past six years and leads the state in overall picks over the last seven years.

THE BAYLOR SYSTEM IS AMERICA'S TOP OFFENSE
Baylor's unique, record-breaking system has set the standard for offense in contemporary college football. For three-straight seasons, Baylor has led the nation in both Total Offense (616.2 ypg in 2015, 581.5 ypg 2014, 618.8 ypg 2013) and Scoring (48.1 ppg in 2015, 48.2 ppg 2014, 52.4 ppg 2013), just the second program in NCAA history to do soà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € (first since BYU 1979-81).

THE BAYLOR OFFENSE: à ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € A unique, up-tempo spread attack with origins in Bill Yeoman's `Houston Veer' (perhaps most identifiable by wide splits of receivers and a power running game); it's a balanced offense, not to be confused with more common pass-heavy spread attacks. The Baylor offense is also in use under former Art Briles assistants at Syracuse (head coach Dino Babers), Texasà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € (offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert) and Tulsa (head coach Philip Montgomery).

BAYLOR'Sà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € OFFENSIVEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € STREAKS
