No. 4 Equestrian Strides Past No. 5 Oklahoma State

WACO, Texas - No. 4 Baylor equestrian (9-3, 4-1 Big 12) was able to come up with its second-straight conference victory, downing No. 5 Oklahoma State (6-3, 5-1 Big 12), 13-6, on Saturday afternoon at the Willis Equestrian Center.
The competition was tight from the start, as the Bears and the Cowgirls tied on reining, 2-2.
Elizabeth Shank earned her point after defeating Justine Peters, 68-67.5. The second point for BU came via Abbi Demel, who defeated Erin Wiloughby, 64-0.
After the tie, the Bears took off and did not look back. On equitation over fences, Baylor took the event, 3-2.
Paige Parker defeated Maggie Drysch, 85-40, Taylor Sutton took on Carly Barrick, 84-78, and Brittney Mirkov defeated Katie Jones, 84-76, also earning MOP honors.
Baylor swept equitation on the flat, 5-0. Rachel Van Allen defeated Maggie Drysch, 86-82, Savannah Jenkins defeated Carly Barrick, 83-77, Jenny Mitchell defeated Kendall Pedigo, 83-74, Paige Parker defeated Katie Jones, 82-79, and Alicia Gasser defeated Amy White, 86-81. Gasser earned the MOP for the event.
Baylor closed the day by winning horsemanship, 3-2. Brayanna Bergstrom defeated Miranda Reed, 72-71, Charlotte Green defeated Ebba Lange, 71.5-71, and Mary Brown defeated Libby Collins, 74-73.
After the meet, Baylor recognized its decorated senior class: Brayanna Bergstrom, Mary Brown, Michelina Carbone, Catherine Duhring, Kelsey Gray, Bailey Hughes, Andrea Manzanares, Jennifer Mitchell, Olivia Norton, Paige Parker, Kaylyn Paulsen, Emily Reder, Nina Thornton, and Kaitlin Park.
