WACO, Texas - The Baylor football team will hold an open practice, Saturday, April 2, at noon CT, at McLane Stadium.

The event is open to the public with free admission and free parking in lots C and D. Fans can enter the stadium through Gates A or B starting at 11 a.m. All in attendance are asked to sit on the west side of the stadium.

Beginning at 10 a.m., fans are welcomed to tailgate behind their cars in the parking lot or on the north side of the lagoon just outside McLane Stadium. On the South Plaza, there will be 2016 Baylor football schedule posters available, along with face painting, inflatables and a photo opportunity with the Russell Athletic Bowl trophy.

BU is in the midst of a spring practice schedule that began Feb. 25 and will conclude after 15 practices on April 5.

Head coach Art Briles opens his ninth season at Baylor in 2016 with a roster made up of 11 returning starters and 48 returning lettermen. Baylor finished the 2015 season ranked 13th nationally and as Russell Athletic Bowl champions (49-38 win over No. 10 North Carolina), its school-record sixth straight bowl appearance. Under Briles, BU has won a Big 12-best 50 games over the last five seasons, including two conference championships and three bowl wins.

The Bears open the 2016 season Sept. 3 vs. Northwestern State at McLane Stadium.
