LUBBOCK, Texas - No. 20/21 Baylor softball (40-12, 10-4) closes out its last regular season series, squaring off with Texas Tech (23-26, 6-6) in a weekend series, starting Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Rocky Johnson Field.

The Friday contest will be the 59th meeting between the two clubs, with Baylor carrying a strong advantage in the all-time series, leading 44-14 overall and 18-4 in Lubbock.

The 2015 series was the second-straight sweep for the Lady Bears over the Red Raiders, with two shutouts and a walk-off victory to cap off the series.

Stearns pitched a five-hit shutout in game one, with Kendall Potts picking up a win in relief in the middle game.

Stearns pitched a career-high 8.0 innings in game three, before Sarah Beth Toben took over in the ninth. A walk-off RBI double by Ari Hawkins saved the sweep for BU.

For Texas Tech, the Red Raiders snapped a seven-game losing streak, currently riding a four-game winning streak.

Wednesday evening, the club swept a doubleheader at North Texas, taking both games from the Mean Green in Denton.

For Baylor, the Lady Bears have won seven-straight, including a sweep in Waco of Kansas and a Wednesday night win at Abilene Christian.

In the last seven games, BU has outscored its opponents, 41-8.

With a no-hitter and career-high 24.0 scoreless inning streak still intact, Heather Stearns is coming off a week of performances that earned her Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for a Big 12-best fourth time this season.

The weekend series, and all games this season, will be broadcast live with audio on BaylorBears.com/allaccess. Jonathan Hill will provide commentary.
