OKLAHOMAà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € STATE SERIESà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € HISTORY
This is the 35th meeting between Baylor and Oklahoma State. The Cowboys lead the all-time series 19-15 after Baylor won 45-35 last year in Stillwater - its first win at OSU since 1939. However, the Bears hold a 8-7 advantage when the series is in Waco and won 49-28 when the two teams met at McLane Stadium in 2014. The Bears and Cowboys first met Oct. 25, 1914, with OSU blanking Baylor 60-0. The Bears won the next nine meetings (1915-42) before a 20-7 OSU victory in 1972. The teams have met once in the postseason, a 24-14 OSU victory, in the 1983 Bluebonnet Bowl at the Astrodome in Houston. BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € will be looking for three-straight victories against OSU for the first time since that string of nine in a row. As Big 12 foes, the Cowboys lead the series 16-4, but the Bears have won three of the last four meetings.

SERIES NOTES: Baylor won 9 of the first 10 meetings with Oklahoma Stateà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € from 1914-1942, but OSU has won 18 of the last 24 games in the series. ... In 1974, an 0-2 Baylor team knocked off 12th-ranked Oklahoma State at Floyd Casey Stadium. That win started an 8-1 stretch to close the regular season for the Bears in a season that culminated with a Southwest Conference championship. ... In the 1983 Bluebonnet Bowl, Gerald McNeil caught 10 passes for 163 yards against the Cowboys. ... Baylor forced eight turnovers in the 2005 game.

BAYLOR'S DISRPUTIVE DEFENSE
BU's defensive impact has improved under sixth-year D-coordinator Phil Bennett. Over the last three-plus seasons, in which Baylor has posted a Big 12-best 35-7 record and won two league titles, the Bears D has increased its sacks and tackles-for-loss totals. In 2016, the Bears have debuted a 3-4 look that has resulted in a stifling defensive effort through three games.

BEST IN TEXAS
Baylor has posted the best record among in-state programs over the last five-plus years, a 53-15 mark [see list below]. The Bears are also 21-5 head-to-head vs. Texas schools since 2011, and boast an overall 41-7 record in games played in the Lone Star State.

Houston 50-19
TCU 47-20
Texas A&M 46-22
Texas 38-29

THE BAYLOR SYSTEM IS AMERICA'S TOP OFFENSE
Baylor's unique, record-breaking system has set the standard for offense in contemporary college football. For three-straight seasons, Baylor has led the nation in both Total Offense (616.2 ypg in 2015, 581.5 ypg 2014, 618.8 ypg 2013) and Scoring (48.1 ppg in 2015, 48.2 ppg 2014, 52.4 ppg 2013), just the second program in NCAA history to do soà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € (first since BYU 1979-81).

THE BAYLOR OFFENSE: à ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € A unique, up-tempo spread attack with origins in Bill Yeoman's `Houston Veer' (perhaps most identifiable by wide splits of receivers and a power running game); it's a balanced offense, not to be confused with more common pass-heavy spread attacks. The Baylor offense is also in use under former Art Briles assistants at Syracuse (head coach Dino Babers), Texasà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € (offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert) and Tulsa (head coach Philip Montgomery).

BEARS MAKEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € HABIT OFà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BEATINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TOP 10 TEAMS
Baylor is the one of only two schools (Alabama) to have wins over Top 10 teams in each of the past five seasons.
(rankings AP/Coaches/BCS or CFP).

HASTYà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € NAMEDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BIGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 12 NEWCOMERà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € OFà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € THEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € WEEK
Baylor football running back JaMycal Hasty was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
