- Russell threw for a season-high 387 yards, which is tied for 20th on BU's all-time single-game list.
- Russell found WR Chris Platt for an 89-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter, tying the 3rd-longest pass in program history.
- Russell threw his 50th career passing touchdown in the 2nd quarter, joining RG3 and Bryce Petty as the only Baylor players with 50+ career passing TDs. He finished with 4 passing TDs, giving him 53 career passing TDs.
- Russell climbed to 9th on Baylor's all-time passing list with 4,483 yards, moving ahead of Terry Southall (4,100), Blake Szymanski (4,166) and Neal Jeffrey (4,341).
- Platt (career-high 114 receiving yards) had his career-first 100-yard receiving game.
- Platt added a 15-yard TD catch in the 4th quarter, giving him 2 TDs in the game after entering with 1 career receiving TD in 16 games played.
