MISCELLANEOU ­S NOTES
- Baylor and Northwestern State met for the fifth time. Baylor is now 5-0 in the series and has out-scored NSU 291-42.
- Baylor's 55 points were the most in head coach Jim Grobe's 227 career games as a Division I head coach -- the previous high came in Wake Forest's 54-48 win vs. Duke on Sept. 11, 2010.
- Baylor is tied for the second-most wins (58) in FBS since 2010, trailing Alabama (62) and tied with Florida State (58).
- Baylor is 11-2 all-time at McLane Stadium, averaging 51.7 points per game, 27.1 ppg scoring margin and 619.8 yards per game.
- Baylor improved to 30-3 in home games since 2011, the nation's best home record in that span.
- Baylor improved to 76-35-4 all-time in season openers, including 8 straight wins. The Bears are 12-9 in season openers in the Big 12 era.
- Baylor improved to 9-0 in September games since 2013 -- the Bears' last September loss was on Sept. 29, 2012 at West Virginia (70-63).

TEAM NOTES
- Baylor's 48 first-half points were its 7th-most in a half in program history -- the six times scoring more points in a half have all been since 2013.
- Baylor scored 24 points in the 1st quarter, the 11th time on record (since 1964) that the Bears scored 24+ 1st-quarter points (tied for 22nd-most in any quarter).
- Baylor scored 24 points in the 2nd quarter, the 12th time on record (since 1964) that the Bears scored 24+ 2nd-quarter points (tied for 22nd-most in any quarter).
- Baylor threw touchdown passes to multiple tight ends (Sam Tecklenburg and Jordan Feuerbacher) in the same game for the first time since Sept. 8, 2007, when Justin Akers (2) and Brad Taylor (1) caught TD passes in a 42-17 win vs. Rice.
- Baylor has topped 400 yards of offense 62 times in the 66 games since 2011 - that mark leads the nation.
- Baylor has scored 30+ points in 52 of its last 59 contests.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- QB Seth Russell threw 4 TD passes (4, 6, 5, 10 yards), giving him 44 career passing TDs, moving ahead of Nick Florence (41) for 3rd on Baylor's all-time passing TDs list.
- Russell improved to 9-0 in his career as a starter. In his 9 career starts, Russell has thrown 38 TD passes (4.2 TD passes/game) and only 6 interceptions.
- RB Shock Linwood had 97 rushing yards, moving within 107 yards (3,559) of breaking Walter Abercrombie's school record of 3,665 career rushing yards.
- WR KD Cannon had a 6-yard TD catch in the 1st quarter for his 15th career receiving TD, tying Reggie Newhouse and Jay Lee for 9th on BU's career receiving TDs list.
- Cannon (46 receiving yards) moved into 11th on Baylor's career receiving yardage list with 1,944 yards, passing Lanear Sampson (1,905) and Dominique Zeigler (1,923).
- TE Sam Tecklenburg had a 4-yard TD catch in the 1st quarter for his career-first TD.
- TE Jordan Feuerbacher had a 5-yard TD catch in the 2nd quarter for his career-first TD.
- RB Terence Williams had TD runs of 13 and 1 yards, his 2nd and 3rd career rushing TDs.
- WR Pooh Stricklin had a 10-yard TD catch in the 2nd quarter for his career-first TD.
- QB Zach Smith threw a 12-yard TD pass to WR Blake Lynch in the 3rd quarter -- it was the career-first TD for both players.
- PK Chris Callahan made field goals from 23 and 33 yards, giving him 28 career field goals made, passing Ryan Havens for 7th on Baylor's all-time field goals made list.
- LB Taylor Young had a 5-yard sack, giving him 9.0 career sacks and moving him 3.0 sacks from cracking the Baylor career top 10. He also had a career-high 3.5 tackles-for-loss, giving him 25.5 career TFLs and moving him 4.5 away from cracking the Baylor career top 10.
- DE K.J. Smith had 1-yard sack, giving him 6.0 career sacks.
- NT Ira Lewis had 3.0 tackles-for-loss, the first tackles of his career.
- NB Patrick Levels had a forced fumble and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in his career-first start.
- TE Sam Tecklenburg, CB Jameson Houston, LB Raaquan Davis, NB Patrick Levels, DE Jamie Jacobs, OG Tanner Thrift, OT Dom Desouza, OT Ishmael Wilson, OT Patrick Lawrence and NT Ira Lewis made their career-first starts, while S Davion Hall made his career-first start on defense (6 starts at WR).
