
Cross Country Heads to Aggieland Open

WACO, Texas ÃÆ'Æ'à € ' ¢ÃƒÆ'Æ' ¢' ¬" Baylor cross country will continue the 2017 season at the Aggieland Open Friday evening at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course in College Station, Texas.
The women's 5,000-meter race will begin at 5:45 p.m. CT, followed by the men's 5,000m race at 6:15 p.m. CT.
The women's team is coming off a top-10 finish at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, edging the 12th-ranked Irish team for their first win over a ranked opponent this season. The men placed 19th in South Bend.
Last season, the women's squad finished fourth and were led by Isabella Lackner, who completed the 5,000-meter course in 19:49.95 to place 20th. Haley Everroad, Leila Rohde, Lindsay Walton and Sydney Gandy were the other four scoring runners.
Those five scoring athletes tallied 111 points to finish 32 points ahead of fifth-place Louisiana Tech (143). Baylor's top nine runners from the Notre Dame Invitational did not compete in the meet last year.
