THE RUNDOWN
FAIRMONT, W. Va. -- The top-ranked and defending national champion Baylor acrobatics & tumbling team (3-1) notched its second straight road win with a 285.010-270.595 decision over Fairmont State (1-3) on Wednesday night at Joe Retton Arena.
BU topped FSU in all but one event. In the compulsory heats, the Bears won 38.55-37.85, and took the acro heats 29.55-28.85 by scoring at least a 9.75 in all three heats. FSU bounced back in the pyramid heats for a 29.25-28.95 edge to cut BU's halftime lead to a narrow 97.05-95.95 score.
The Bears came out of the break and won the last three events. In the toss heats, BU took a 28.80-27.15 decision, and then have decisive triumphs in the tumbling and team events. The Bears had four passes score at 9.850 or higher for a 58.65-52.675 win in the tumbling event. Baylor finished the meet with 100.51-94.82 team event victory to seal it.

- The team of Kiara Nowlin, Shayla Moore, Miranda Girouard, Allie Alaman and Lauren Sturm posted a 9.90 in compulsory toss heat for the second straight match.
