Hinojosa Qualifies for World University Games

WACO, Texas ÃÆ'Æ' ¢ÃƒÆ' ¢' ¬" Baylor women's tennis sophomore Jessica Hinojosa will represent Mexico at the 29th World University Games in in Chinese Taipei on August 19-30. She will compete alongside more than 5,000 athletes representing more than 120 countries in 22 sports.

Tennis competition begins on August 21 and will continue through August 28 at Taipei Tennis Center. The newly-built facility holds four indoor courts and 14 outdoor courts, and has the capacity to seat 4,000 fans. Hinojosa will also take part in Opening and Closing Ceremonies and stay in Athletes' Village.

Hinojosa played at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions for Baylor in her freshman season, compiling an 18-9 record overall and a 12-7 mark in dual match action. In Big 12 play, she was a perfect 6-0 for the Lady Bears and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team for her contributions. Hinojosa, paired with four doubles partners in the No. 2 or No. 3 position, posted a 14-11 record overall and a 5-3 mark in conference action.
