TORONTO – Junior All-American and Team USA member Kiana Horton earned her second gold medal of the summer as part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team at the NACAC Senior Championships, which concluded Sunday at Varsity Stadium in Toronto.
The U.S. women's 4x400m relay team of Briana Guillory, Jasmine Blocker, Kiana Horton and Courtney Okolo clocked 3:26.08 ahead of second-place Jamaica (3:27.25) to win the title. The USA's gold-medal winning time was a stadium record.
Over the course of three days, 93 USATF competitors broke numerous championship and stadium records, winning 25 gold medals and 61 medals total.
The meet contained 31 countries from the North America, Central America and Caribbean regions. In its third year and first since 2015, the United States has won the medal count at each championship.
Last month, Horton was part of the gold medal-winning USA relay at the inaugural Athletics World Cup in London where the team edged second-place Jamaica in 3:24.28.

TOP QUOTE #1
"My mindset was focused on doing my part for Team USA no matter what role they had for me. I was very focused on finishing out the season strong and I knew the standard (Team USA) had set for me. When executing my race, I just did what I always do -- give it my all and leave the rest out on the track. I had the opportunity of running with some amazing girls, and we all had so much great chemistry from day one. We all had the common goal of taking home the gold." –Kiana Horton on running in Toronto

"This experience means everything to me. To be able to compete with Team USA twice in one summer and win gold in both meets shows me that I'm ready to step my game up to a new level. Coming into my senior season, I'm on the right track to run really fast, and I have a great support system and Baylor staff to only make me better." –Kiana Horton on her experience with Team USA
