Lady Bears ready to open fall camp, hosting five home exhibitions
WACO, Texas – Baylor softball unveiled its six-game fall schedule, including five chances to see the Lady Bears for free at Getterman Stadium, announced Monday by 19th-year head coach Glenn Moore.
All home fall games are free and open to the public, with fans encouraged to take advantage of the free opportunity to see a preview of the upcoming 2019 season squad.
"We must grow our young team quickly this fall, so we've put together a stronger schedule of mostly four-year schools, along with opening up with one of the strongest junior college programs in the country in MCC," Moore said. "We will end once again against LSU in The Woodlands at the Scrap Yard complex."
BU will also open its fall camp practice schedule on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 8 a.m. at Getterman Stadium.
The Lady Bears will have a quick turnaround before the first test against outside competition, playing MCC on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. at Getterman.
Baylor will then host Northwestern State (DH, Sep. 29), Navarro College (Oct. 11), Texas A&M-Commerce (DH, Oct. 13) and Tarleton State (Oct. 17) to close out its home fall schedule.
For the second-straight year, BU will close the fall season with a showcase exhibition versus LSU in The Woodlands at the Scrap Yard Sports Complex.
In the 2017 fall season finale, the Lady Bears grinded out a 4-3 win over the Tigers in front of a record crowd of over 2,500 at the Scrap Yard complex.
BU is coming off a 38-18 campaign in 2018, concluding its season in the NCAA College Station Regional.
The Lady Bears return 13 letterwinners for the 2019 season, welcoming in nine newcomers that could see playing time this fall for BU.
