WACO, Texas – Junior defensive lineman James Lynch is the first unanimous All-America selection for Baylor since 2015 and just the 10th Bear overall to earn the honor.
Lynch was named a first team All-America selection by all five outlets that are considered for consensus and unanimous All-America honors - AP, Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Sporting News and Walter Camp.
Named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year by the conference coaches and the AP, Lynch is the Bears' all-time sack record holder with 21.0 career sacks, along with being the single-season record holder with 12.5 in 2019.
The Round Rock, Texas, native amassed 39 total tackles on the year, defended five passes, forced three fumbles, recovered two more and blocked two kicks as he started all 13 games on the defensive line.
