HUMBLE, Texas – Baylor men's golf finished tied for second place with a 36-hole total of 2-over-par 578 at the All-American Intercollegiate. The Bears shot 6-over 294 in Monday's second round and were five shots back of the lead before Tuesday's final round was canceled due to heavy rain.
No. 37 Baylor (+2) placed behind only Sam Houston State (-3). The Bears tied with Houston (+2) and finished ahead of No. 34 South Carolina (+6), Charlotte (+6), No. 49 Ole Miss (+7), UTSA (+11), Rice (+15), North Texas (+21), McNeese State (+22), Louisiana-Lafayette (+23), Lamar (+26), UT Arlington (+28) and New Mexico State (+28).
Baylor's best second-round score came from Braden Bailey, who shot even-par 72 to move finish a tie for 22nd place in the 84-player field at 3-over 147. Mark Reppe shot 1-over 73 and is recorded his career-best finish in a tie for fourth place at 3-under 141, three shots back of the individual champion. Cooper Dossey shot 2-under on the back-9 to post a 2-over 74 and move into a tie for 22nd place at 3-over 147, while Garrett May carded Baylor's final counting score with a 3-over 75 to tie for 22nd place at 3-over 147.
Colin Kober shot 5-over 77 and tied for 31st place, while Ryan Grider, who competed as an individual, shot even-par 72 to move into a tie for 12th place at 1-over 145. Austin Cotton, who also competed as an individual, tied for 77th place at 15-over 159 after shooting 7-over 79.
