Madi O’Neal records her fifth career multi-hit game
WACO, Texas – Baylor (15-18) got some solid work from Goose McGlaun who pitched seven innings of relief work Tuesday night. However, the Lady Bears couldn't get things going offensively as they fell to Stephen F. Austin, 4-1, at Getterman Stadium.
McGlaun took over in the circle for Madison Lindsey in the top of the first inning and gave up one run off nine hits. Of the 90 pitches she threw, 64 of them were strikes.
In the top of the first, SFA plated four runs off three hits. The LadyJacks never scored again as the Baylor defense backed up McGlaun in the circle, leaving eight SFA runners stranded on base.
Baylor got on the board in the bottom of the first as Lou Gilbert worked through a seven pitch at-bat to walk before Kassidy Krupit sent a single to deep right field to put runners on the corners with two outs. That set things up for Taylor Ellis whose single through the left side scored Gilbert.
The Lady Bears threatened to add more runs an inning later with the bases loaded and two outs, but a pop fly was caught in foul territory to end the inning.

Glenn Moore on the game…
"The team has faced adversity, and the challenge for me is to get the girls to play to the level they know they're capable of playing at. I don't believe we are playing to our talent level yet. We are much better than we are playing. We are doing too many things fundamentally wrong that we know how to do, but we are continuing to do it wrong. Tonight we looked pretty apathetic offensively. We can't keep saying we tip our cap to the other team because every team we face doesn't have an all-American pitcher. … I think it is a lack of an aggressive approach and it is a lack of an intelligent approach. We are out of sync and not playing good, smart softball."
