STORY LINES
• The Bears will host their final regular season game on Tuesday, May 14 as they welcome UT Arlington Baylor Ballpark for a 6:35 p.m. CT first pitch.
• This contest was originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, but was rescheduled due to extremely cold temperatures.
• Baylor is now 7-2 in midweek games this season and 34-12 all-time in midweek contests under fourth-year head coach Steve Rodriguez.
• The Bears lead the Big 12 by 0.5 games as we enter the final weekend of the regular season and the magic number to clinch the title is three games. The Bears need to either sweep at Oklahoma State, or match what Texas Tech does against TCU.
• The Bears have won eight-of-10 three game series on the year.
• With four regular season games left, the Bears are two wins away from tying the most regular season wins under head coach Steve Rodriguez (34 in 2017).

AGAINST UT ARLINGTON
• The Bears played the longest game of the Rodriguez tenure, 13 innings, the last time the Bears and Mavericks met on the diamond on April 9, 2019. The Bears dropped the road contest in walk-off fashion, 2-1 in 13 innings, despite outhitting UTA, 12-10. The lone Baylor run came from a Davion Downey solo home run. Freshman reliever Brooks Helmer, who had earned his first collegiate win the week before at Dallas Baptist, took the loss as he walked home the game-winning run with the bases loaded. The Bears used seven pitchers in the game, and projected starter Tyler Thomas threw scoreless fifth and sixth innings, allowing just one hit, no walks and two strikeouts.
• The Bears and Mavericks have only met once at Baylor Ballpark during the Coach Rod tenure, falling 9-2 on Feb. 24, 2016. The one win for the Bears in the series under Coach Rod came on March 6, 2018 in a 9-1 win at Globe Life Park.

• The Bears boast the third-highest batting average in the nation (.317), 20th with 2.2 doubles per game,15th in slugging percentage (.480) and 19th in on-base percentage (0.401). The Bears' fielding percentage of 0.979 ranks 17th nationally. On the mound the Bears rank 24th in ERA (3.6) and 13th with just 7.51 hits allowed per nine innings. Also, the Bears' six shutouts on the year rank seventh nationally.

• Davis Wendzel ranks 34th nationally with a batting average of .385 and his on-base percentage ranks 19th (.500). Andy Thomas ranks third nationally with 0.5 doubles per game, while his 19 doubles on the year rank 19th. Nick Loftin is the 22nd-toughest guy nationally to strikeout, only doing so once every 13.0 at bats.
