SB Adds Seven on Signing Day

Baylor adds local flavor to 2021 roster
WACO, Texas – The Baylor softball team added seven student-athletes for the 2021 season, announced by 21st-year head coach Glenn Moore on Wednesday.
Five of them are from the Central Texas area as the entire class hails from the state of Texas.
"Lots of versatility in this class," Moore said. "I believe this will be one of the most intelligent classes we've ever signed and that's a big statement. This class has some well-developed athletes ready for college ball with even more untapped potential that could develop it into an amazing group."
Rylie Bouvier
Catcher, Santa Fe, Texas, Santa Fe High School, Texas Dirt Divas
Rylie Bouvier joins the Lady Bears out of Santa Fe, Texas, and Santa Fe High School. She played for the Texas Dirt Divas under J.D. Chandler.
Bouvier is a two-time all-district catcher as she helped lead her high school team to back-to-back playoff appearances. She currently has 13 home runs and 85 RBIs during her high school career.

"Rylie Bouvier can play anywhere on the field at a very high level. She is a late-rhythm hitter which makes her always a tough out."
Emry McDonough
Infield/Utility, Waco, Texas, Bosqueville High School, Texas Glory
Emry McDonough joins the Lady Bears out of Waco, Texas, and Bosqueville High School. She played for Texas Glory under Kevin Shelton.
McDonough racked up multiple awards during her time at Bosqueville as she was named her district's Defensive Player of the Year twice in addition to receiving Offensive Player of the Year and All-State accolades.

"Emry McDonough is a shortstop with good range. She is an offensive threat with great power. She's very smart with tremendous work ethic."
Grace Powell
Catcher, Crawford, Texas, Crawford High School, Centex Buzz
Grace Powell joins the Lady Bears out of Crawford Texas, and Crawford High School. She played for Centex Buzz under Trey Holdbrook.
Powell won state with Crawford in 2019. She scored the game-winning run in the state title game and was named second-team Super Centex after that season after she hit .452 with 22 RBIs.

Caroline Rowatt
Outfield, Waco, Texas, Midway High School, Centex Buzz
Caroline Rowatt joins the Lady Bears out of Waco, Texas, and Midway High School. She played for Centex Buzz under Trey Holdbrook. She is coming to Baylor with her twin sister, Jenna.
Caroline was named first-team all-district and Offensive MVP for Midway. She led her team with 36 hits in 2019 and hit .614 in 2020 before the season was cut short.

Jenna Rowatt

Jenna Rowatt joins the Lady Bears out of Waco, Texas, and Midway High School. She played for Centex Buzz under Trey Holdbrook. She is coming to Baylor with her twin sister, Caroline.
Jenna, a four-year letterwinner at Midway, hit .429 in 2018-19 and drove in 12 RBIs.

Ashlyn Wachtendorf joins the Lady Bears out of Lorena, Texas, and Lorena High School. She played for Centex Buzz under Trey Holdbrook.
Wachtendorf was an All-State honoree as well as Offensive MVP after she hit .625 with 27 stolen bases. She also lettered in basketball where she was twice named Defensive MVP.

Kaci West
Pitcher/Outfield, Liberty, Texas, Liberty High School, Hotshots
Kaci West joins the Lady Bears out of Liberty, Texas, and Liberty High School. She played for Hotshots out of Conroe, Texas.
West hit .500 with a .609 ERA as she was named the TXSWA Class 4A Player of the Year in 2018 when she helped lead her team to the state championship. West is a two-time all-state pitcher for Liberty High. She also played on the U17 Pan American Champions USA team.
