Bears erase 3-1 deficit to defeat Rebels
THE RUNDOWN
OXFORD, Miss. – The Baylor women's tennis team rallied from down 3-1 to defeat Ole Miss on the road Saturday night at the Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, 4-3.
The Bears' (4-0) Kristina Sorokolet used a three-set victory over the Rebels' (4-2) Kelsey Mize, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 to break the three-all tie and give Baylor the victory.
Ole Miss won the doubles point by taking two of three matches before Baylor's Paula Barañano evened the match at one apiece with a 6-1, 6-1 win on the No. 6 court over Vic de Samucewicz. THEY SAID IT
BU Head Coach Joey Scrivano …
"Give credit to Ole Miss. They were in control for the majority of the match. I'm proud of my players. They all showed a lot of character and mental toughness. We have a team that values the name on front of the jersey, loves to compete, and embraces the process. We won't have much time to enjoy this win because tomorrow we need to bounce back and focus our attention to Mississippi State."
WHAT'S NEXT
Baylor remains in Oxford Saturday, but will play Mississippi State on neutral court at Noon.
