Aliyah Pritchett hits her first career home run
THE RUNDOWN
CLEARWATER, Fla. – Baylor softball (2-1) dropped a 9-1 contest to Missouri (3-0) in five innings on Saturday morning at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater.
The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Lady Bears got on the board in the top of the fourth.
Aliyah Pritchett hit her first career home run over the fence in right center field. It marked the second home run of the NFCA Leadoff Classic for Baylor as Taylor Ellis hit her first of the season against Louisville on Friday.
Missouri would go on to plate six more runs over the next two innings to record the run-rule victory.
Baylor finished the contest with seven hits. Pritchett and Nicky Dawson each went 2-for-3 at the plate. Goose McGlaun and Kyla Walker have a hit in every game this season.
HIGHLIGHTS
1 – Aliyah Pritchett hit her first career home run. She's the second freshman in the Big 12 to hit a home run this season.
TOP QUOTES
Glenn Moore on the game…
"We were in a hole quickly with the three solo home runs but were able to stabilize things when (Aliyah) Pritchett came in. She also cut the lead with her first career home run. However, we missed a couple of opportunities to add more. Their constant pressure finally led to the big inning that did us in. We are a work in progress, but even in a loss we get better."
