LOS CABOS, Mexico – Baylor men's golf is tied for sixth place after shooting 1-under-par 283 in Monday's second round of the Cabo Collegiate at Cabo Del Sol Ocean Golf Course. The Bears sit at 7-under 561 heading to Tuesday's final round, eight shots back of the lead.
The No. 13-ranked Bears (-7) trail No. 14 Arizona (-15), No. 20 Vanderbilt (-12), No. 9 Arizona State (-10), No. 47 Florida State (-9) and No. 35 Stanford (-9). BU is tied with No. 25 Oklahoma State (-7) and leads No. 6 Texas A&M (-6), No. 42 Alabama (-5), No. 50 Arkansas (-3), No. 32 Ole Miss (+8), No. 29 California (+8), No. 39 Houston (+12), Rice (+14) and No. 30 LSU (+18).
Freshman Johnny Keefer is tied for the individual lead in the 80-player field after shooting 4-under 67 with four birdies and 14 pars on Monday. He's at 7-under 135 through two rounds, in a three-way tie for first place.
Cooper Dossey turned in the Bears' second-best round of the day at 1-under 70 to move into a tie for 11th place at 4-under 138. Colin Kober carded 1-over 72, Mark Reppe posted the Bears' final counting score at 3-over 74, and Ryan Grider recorded 4-over 75. Grider is tied for 50th place at 3-over 145, Reppe is tied for 57th at 4-over 146 and Kober is tied for 59th place at 4-over
