WACO, Texas– Baylor senior outfielder
Mack Mueller signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, announced today.
Mueller played the 2019 season for the Bears and the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season after transferring to Baylor from Cisco College. He appeared in 39 career games for the Bears, starting 33 of them, mostly in the outfield. He boasts a career batting average of .283 (32-for-113) with 23 RBI, six home runs, 13 walks and 23 runs scored. He also slugged .531.
The Abilene, Texas, native was off to a hot start in 2020, hitting .281 in 16 games played, with four doubles, 10 RBI and a career-high four home runs. In a 2019 season hampered by some lingering injuries, Mueller hit .286 in 23 games played, with six doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI.
A 2020 First Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree, Mueller graduated in May with a degree in health, kinesiology and leisure studies.
Mueller is the second Bear that is set to join the pro ranks off the 2020 team as
