TennisRecruiting.net ranks three Bears newcomers; Baylor with 2nd-best Big 12 class
WACO, Texas – TennisRecruiting.net and Mizuno ranked the 2020 Baylor women's tennis signing class as 24th best in the country in early June. The Bears also checked in as the second-highest ranked Big 12 class in the media poll.
The classes are selected by media panelists that cover collegiate tennis. Incoming transfer students and freshmen that competed in the spring were not considered.
Audrey Boch-Collins highlighted Baylor's signing class that also included a pair of three-star prospects in Caroline Kotarski and Hannah Pinto.
Boch-Collins was deemed a "Blue Chip" prospect by TRN, a five-star recruit, and she was ranked as the No. 2 recruit in the country on April 14. Her record on the junior circuit is 30-5 all-time, and she won four individual state championships for Pal Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kotarski hails from Hinsdale, Illinois, and TRN rated her the No. 9 recruit out of the state of Illinois. Pinto comes to Baylor from Dallas, Texas, where she played at the Lakes Tennis Academy. TRN ranked Pinto as the No. 21-ranked player in the Lone Star State.
The trio will fill in nicely a 2020-21 roster that returns all 10 players from a COVID-19-shortened season in 2020. The Bears went 10-2 on the season with a 2-0 record in the Big 12 before the pandemic cut the season short. Baylor finished the season ranked No. 22 in the nation by the ITA.
