WT Wraps Up Day Two at Texas A&M Fall Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor women's tennis finished the second day at the Texas A&M Fall Invitational on Saturday in College Station.
Alina Shcherbinina continued her win streak, now up to six-straight matches, as she defeated Kelly Keller of Arkansas, 6-2, 6-3. Anita Sahdiieva also picked up a win, 6-2, 7-5, over Arkansas' Lenka Stara. Paula Barañano rounded out Baylor's wins in singles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Laura Rijkers of Arkansas.
Ana Carmen Zamburek dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match to Princeton's Maia Sung, while Olivia Malm fell, 6-2, 6-4, to Princeton's Michelle Sorokko. Hannah Pinto dropped a 6-2, 6-1 contest to Nathalie Rodilosso of Princeton. Brooke Thompson battled through two sets but ultimately fell to Arkansas' Presley Southerland, 7-5 (7-5), 7-5.
After Baylor's strong performance in doubles on Friday, the Bears struggled on Saturday. Barañano and Alicia Herrero Linana lost to Princeton's Nathalie Rodilosso and Brianna Shvets, 6-2. Sahdiieva and Shcherbinina dropped to Grace Joyce and Michelle Sorokko of Princeton, 6-4. Malm and Zamburek fell, 6-2, to Princeton's Skyler Grishuk and Maia Sung. Pinto and Thompson played a combined team of LSU's Geisser and A&M's Di Laura and lost, 6-1.
The Bears will start Day Three at Texas A&M at 9 a.m. on Sunday with doubles followed by singles.
