
WT Closes Fall Slate with Final Day at Texas A&M Fall Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Baylor women's tennis ended its fall slate by competing in the final day of the Texas A&M Fall Invitational in College Station on Sunday.
The Bears began the day going 2-1 in doubles action. Paula Barañano and Alicia Herrero Linana defeated Arkansas' Grace O'Donnell and Tatum Rice, 6-3. Anita Sahdiieva and Alina Shcherbinina defeated LSU's Taylor Bridges and Mia Rabinowitz, 6-2. Mel Krywoj and Olivia Malm dropped a 6-4 contest to Texas A&M's Gianna Pielet and Mary Stoiana.
In singles, four Bears picked up the win. Herrero Linana secured a ranked win over No. 43 Bridges, 6-0, 2-6, 6-0. Krywoj topped Princeton's Maia Sung, 7-5, 6-1. Sahdiieva topped Princeton's Michelle Sorokko, 6-3, 4-6 1-0 (10-1), and Malm topped Princeton's Grace Joyce, 6-4, 6-3.
Hannah Pinto fell 6-1, 6-1 to A&M's Isa Di Laura. Shcherbinina saw her singles win streak come to an end when No. 102 Brianna Shvets defeated the Baylor freshman, 6-3, 6-1. Barañano fell to LSU's Ena Babic, 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 1-0 (10-1). Ana Carmen Zamburek fell, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 to LSU's Nina Geissler, and Brooke Thompson lost to Princeton's Nathalie Rodilosso, 6-3, 6-2.
