Alina Shcherbinina takes home Big 12 Individuals title
STILLWATER, Okla. – Baylor women's tennis brought home a title on Sunday as the Bears wrapped up play at the Big 12 Individuals at Oklahoma State.
Freshman Alina Shcherbinina defeated Kansas State's Rosanna Maffei, 6-4, 6-3, to win the Flight A singles bracket. Shcherbinina won all four of her matches in straight sets.
Freshmen Brooke Thompson and Olivia Malm each played in a singles match on Sunday as well. Thompson took a 6-3, 6-4 win over West Virginia's Ting Pei Chang, while Malm fell to Texas Tech's Camryn Stepp, 6-1, 6-2.
