Luke Dossey finishes third individually in career-first appearance in BU lineup

BRYAN, Texas – Baylor men's golf finished in fifth place with a 54-hole total of 12-over-par 876 at the Aggie Invitational. The Bears shot 3-over-par 291 in Sunday's final round at Traditions Club, finishing 10 shots back of the lead.
No. 36 Baylor recorded head-to-head victories over No. 30 Louisville (+14), Nebraska (+29), Kansas (+32), No. 46 Houston (+35), North Texas (+35), No. 33 UTSA (+40), UNLV (+41), Rice (+48), New Mexico State (+61), Lamar (+62), Northern Illinois (+68) and Prairie View A&M (+125). The only four teams to finish ahead of the Bears are top-25 ranked – No. 1 Oklahoma (+2), No. 12 Texas A&M (+2), No. 5 Texas (+4) and No. 25 Texas Tech (+9).
Redshirt freshman Luke Dossey made the most of his first time competing in the Baylor lineup. He shot even-par 72 in Sunday's final round to finish alone in third place in the 96-player field at 2-under 214. Luke joined individual medalist Sam Bennett of Texas A&M as the only golfers to shoot par-or-better in all three tournament rounds.
Cooper Dossey, Ryan Grider and Tyler Isenhart all shot 1-over to finish out Baylor's Sunday scorecard. Cooper finished tied for 21st place at 4-over 220, while Isenhart tied for 28th place at 6-over 222 and Grider tied for 34th place at 8-over 224. Travis McInroe carded 5-over 77 in the final round to tie for 50th place at 11-over 227.
The Bears were 4-under at the turn on Sunday, with Luke Dossey making seven birdies and two birdies to card 2-under on the front-9. Grider was also 2-under at the turn after making three birdies over his first five holes, and Isenhart had eight pars and one birdie going out.
STAT OF THE DAY
43 – Luke Dossey led all 96 golfers in the tournament with 43 pars across 56 holes, two more than any other player. Dossey made 15 pars in Friday's first round and Sunday's final round and carded 13 pars in Saturday's second round. He played his final 30 holes at 4-under with five birdies, one bogey and 24 pars.

Baylor returns to action next weekend in the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate, a two-day 54-hole tournament beginning Friday at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, Ariz.
