WACO, Texas -- Senior Paula Barañano posted a ranked win in singles to highlight Baylor women's tennis in the second day of the H-E-B Invite, hosted by the Bears on Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center. 
 
Barañano earned a 6-4, 3-6, 9-7 winner over No. 96 Elza Tomase out of Tennessee to lead the Bears on Saturday. Saturday's results featured three BU doubles pairs competing and four total singles matches involving Baylor standouts. 
 
QUOTABLE
"Day two was a tough day for the Bears but I was really proud of the ladies, they competed hard," Baylor head coach Joey Scrivano said. "They dug deep today, especially Pauly, in the last singles of the day; it was a three setter. She just competed so hard. I'm just proud of the team. This is a long season. It is a marathon not a sprint. We're progressing the right way and we have some good tennis ahead of us."

The event will conclude on Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center.
