Bears end non-conference winners of seven of their last eight

WACO, Texas – No. 20 Baylor (9-4) got a pair of wins Sunday afternoon at Hurd Tennis Center.
The Bears started the day with a 4-0 win over North Texas.
In doubles, Pauli Barañano and Alina Shcherbinina took care of Kexuan Zhou and Sophia Hummel, 6-2. No. 1 Mel Krywoj and Alicia Herrero Linana followed with a 6-2 win of their own over Lucie Devier and Maria Ponomareva to clinch the doubles point for the Bears.
In singles, No. 122 Shcherbinina defeated Saki Ooyama on court two, 6-2, 6-2. Barañano won, 7-5, 6-1, on court three over Liisa Vehvilainen and Ana Carmen Zamburek topped Zhou, 6-2, 6-4, on court five.
Baylor followed up that performance with a 6-1 win over ACU.
For the 11th time this season, the Bears took the doubles point. Shcherbinina and Hannah Pinto won on court 3, 6-2, over Maryjoe Crisologo and Andrea Guerrero. Krywoj and Herrero picked up their 10th win of the spring with a 6-4 win on court one over Claire Fisher and Ileana Moccila.
In singles, Sahdiieva made quick work of Danielle Viljoen, 6-1, 6-0. Olivia Malm finished shortly after with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Fisher. Shcherbinina clinched the win with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Harvison added another point for BU with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Crisologo. Ana Carmen Zamburek joined the party with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Andrea Guerrero.
