WACO, Texas – No. 7 Baylor (0-2) suffered a 16-3 defeat to No. 2 Auburn (2-0) Friday afternoon at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco, Texas.
After dropping Fences 5-0, the Bears tallied three points with strong rides in Flat and Horsemanship. A Reining shutout kept the BU comeback at bay.
Despite high-80 scores, Baylor dropped Fences 5-0.
Elsie Naruszewicz (71) scored BU's first point of the meet in Horsemanship, improving to 2-0 on the season.
Madison Mitchell (89) and
Lauren Jorgensen (81) added a couple points on the Jumping Seat side of the arena. Jorgensen's 81-ride marks her first-career point in Flat.
Auburn shutout Baylor in Reining to put the meet away.
