BU sophomore Drew Wrightson matches his career-best finish with a tie for fifth
LA QUINTA, Calif. โย Baylor men's golf recorded another strong showing with a 20-over 872 en route to an eighth-place finish on Wednesday at the Prestige.

As the field stroke average rose with the winds in La Quinta, Drew Wrightson shot a 3-over 74 on Monday, over three shots better than the stroke average of 77.17. His 2-under 211 was good enough for a tie for fifth, tying his career-best finish.

No. 15 Pepperdine took home the team title with an 8-under 844, six-shots better than No. 3 Texas Tech, who finished second. Tech's Ludvig Aberg took home individual medalist honors with a 6-under 207.

THE RUNDOWN
Needing to finish his second round in the morning session, Wrightson made-three-straight pars to polish off his second-straight round at par or better, a 2-under 69. In the final round, the sophomore opened with a bogey at No. 2 but bounced back immediately with a birdie at No. 3. Two more bogeys dotted his front nine at Nos. 7 and 9 to make the turn at 2-over. Wrightson clawed back another stroke with a birdie at No. 14 but gave one back with a birdie at No. 17. He would finish his round with a bogey at No. 1 to clinch his second-career top-five finish.

Tyler Isenhart finished tied for 34th with a 7-over 220. The senior finished his 1-under 70 second round in the morning and opened the final round with five-straight pars. Isenhart made a double-bogey at No. 8 and another at No. 15, followed by two more bogeys. He finished his round with three-straight pars to cap off a six-over 77.

Zach Heffernan tied for 52nd following a 9-over 80 in the final round. Starting on No. 3, Heffernan played his first nine holes at 4-over with bogeys at Nos. 4, 6, 8 and 10. He made a double bogey at No. 13 before closing his round with three bogeys in his final four holes.

Johnny Keefer shot an 11-over 82 to finish tied for 54th. The junior opened with five bogeys on the front nine at Nos. 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9. He played his first three holes under par on the back nine, highlighted by a birdie at No. 12, but played his final six holes at 7-over par to close out the round.

Trey Bosco shot the second-best round of the day for the Bears, a 5-over 76, over a shot better than the field average in the final round. Bosco made bogeys on three of his first five holes but settled in after that with eight-straight pars. His first birdie of the day came at No. 14 but followed with double bogeys at No. 16 and a bogey at No. 18 to finish tied for 64th.
